GeoFire Solar Places Fully Subscribed Red Lion Community Solar Project in Service and Completes Asset Sale

Queen Anne’s County, MD — July 15, 2026 — GeoFire Solar, LLC (“GeoFire”) announced today that its Red Lion Solar project, a 2.7-megawatt commercial-scale community solar facility located in Queen Anne’s County, Maryland, has been placed in service and that the sale of the completed asset has closed.

The milestones mark the successful advancement of Red Lion from project acquisition and development through construction, utility approval, and commercial operation. The facility has received Permission to Operate and is now delivering renewable energy through Maryland’s Community Solar Program.

Red Lion is 100% subscribed under the state’s community solar program, reflecting strong demand from households and businesses seeking access to renewable energy without the need for rooftop equipment or upfront installation costs.

“Placing Red Lion in service and completing the sale of the project are significant milestones for GeoFire Solar,” said Zach Grabill, President of GeoFire Solar. “Red Lion demonstrates our team’s ability to identify a strong project, advance it through development and construction, and successfully deliver an operating renewable energy asset. We are proud of the work that brought the project to this point and of the long-term benefits it will provide to subscribers and the surrounding community.”

The Red Lion facility is expected to generate approximately 4.25 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, providing clean energy to hundreds of Maryland households and businesses while supporting the state’s renewable energy and climate objectives.

Red Lion represents an important achievement for GeoFire Solar and demonstrates the company’s ability to execute across the full solar-development lifecycle—from acquisition and financing through construction, utility approval, commercial operation, and asset disposition.

GeoFire will remain involved in the project’s operating phase while continuing to advance its broader pipeline of commercial-scale solar projects across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast. The company remains focused on disciplined project selection, reliable execution, thoughtful capital partnerships, and renewable energy projects that create lasting value for communities and project stakeholders.
