Swansea, MA — February 10, 2026 — GeoFire Solar, LLC (“GeoFire”) announced today that it has closed on the acquisition of Old Providence Road Solar, LLC, a 6,512-kilowatt (kW) commercial-scale solar development project located in Swansea, Massachusetts.
The project is expected to participate in the Massachusetts SMART 3.0 Program and represents GeoFire’s continued expansion into high-quality, incentive-backed solar markets across the Northeast. Through the acquisition, GeoFire has assumed control of the project’s site lease, permitting, and development rights and will advance the project through final development milestones toward construction and long-term operations.
“Closing on Old Providence Road Solar is an important step as we continue to scale our development platform in markets with durable policy support and strong fundamentals,” said Zach Grabill, President of GeoFire Solar. “Massachusetts remains one of the most attractive solar markets in the country, and this project aligns well with our disciplined approach to selecting and advancing high-quality assets.”
Upon completion, the Old Providence Road Solar project is expected to deliver clean, renewable energy to the region and support Massachusetts’ long-standing clean energy and decarbonization goals under the SMART 3.0 framework.
